This is it, all the evidence we have of such a fabulous night! There was a huge bottle of champagne, sparkly dresses and much dancing had by all.
Thank you for breaking in the new year with me ladies, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and hope you did too. Cheers to a good twelve months to come, many more drinks, lots of laughter and love to my London family and my family around the world. xxxx

Happy birthday young lady!
Thank you for always being there and just being yourself. Your humour and patience has gotten us through some long work days and you're definitely my kind of crazy. I hope you had a wonderful night out. xxxx
To all my new friends, near and far,
On a happier note, the sun has started to shine, though it is still a bit chilly. I have been doing my part for the economy and blowing off steam with girls night out and cocktails. There have been healthy, regular walks and Amanda and I met her future husband/puppy in a local cafe.
Mum and Dad are counting down to their holiday and, a few weeks after they start that, I get to meet up with them in Italy. I am just a little bit excited for that! I haven't been home or seen them since my visit in September. Homesick doesn't even start to describe it but I'm keeping busy and staying positive. Nay-sayers, be silenced! It has been cold and horrible enough after New Years to snow. Everyone keeps saying 'It's been seven years since the real last snow. It won't happen. It just won't. You're dreaming!' You were all wrong! It isn't much and I had to stop and ask someone in the street if it was, indeed snow and not some intense rush of pollution in the air, but, yes it has happened- snow in London! Better late than never! PS I never realised how wet snow is... and how quickly it turns to slush. Also, British people like to complain no matter the weather. It's part of the culture! I am back in dreary old London town, which turns out isn't all that dreary.
I celebrated a few firsts this month- my first Diwali with all its bright colours, food and celebrations and my first Guy Fawkes night complete with standing in a paddock, waiting for fireworks and oohing as the geese and ducks get frightened out of their nightly doze when they finally take off. The weather is getting cooler, work is still rolling on- nearly at the end, though and there have been plenty of nights out with the girls (pictures are unecessary, I'll let you just imagine how messy!) Missing home after my visit in September but glad I had some beautiful friends to come back to. I dragged my butt all across the globe to help celebrate the wedding of Leanne and Chris. It was so beautiful and went 95% smoothly which is pretty good considering the usual event. I feel so privileged to have been invited and to be involved. Leanne was a beautiful bride and Chris looked one of a kind in his ancestral kilt!
On top of all that, I got to spend time with the fam-bam that was severely needed. Thankyou for all the laughs, love and the recharge! It was a short stay but I've already booked my flight back again soon! Not everyone is lucky enough to have a Samantha in their lives; someone who challenges, encourages, supports and helps them grow. I am one of the lucky ones, even if she is leaving me for Canadia. Hopefully, by the time she reads this blog post, she will be safely home and dry eyed (yeah, sure). It has been an interesting 6 months that started with having to find somewhere to live within five days. We did pretty well, I think. Since then there have been so many laughs and adventures, I don't know where to begin so I'll just say, I'll miss your smiling face most of all. 10 Things I love About Sam1) Your laugh makes me laugh :) 2) Your nervous fingers! 3) 'I feel bad...'- about everything. 4) Your fear of anything that might vaguely resemble a bug... even those dastardly leaves. 5) Your appreciation of food- 'mmmh, this is delicious!' (I wish I had managed to video you!) 6) 'Panties'- just the way you say it... 7) The way you can analyse someones actions and find the reasonable side... even when they are a raging loon! 8) Our language barrier Canadian V Australian.... V English 9) 'Nicole?'- I am going to miss the questioning slant to my name coming from next door 10) The way you have encouraged me to grow over the past six months, I just can't thank you enough There is so much more. Much adoration your way my friend! See you soon! xx |
