Aunty KewpI had the sad honour of farewelling one of Grandma’s remaining sisters, our Great Aunt this week. I went with Mum, Grandma and a large cluster of the Young branch to Pennant Hills to say our goodbyes to a lovely lady. Aunt Gwendoline ‘Kewp’ (so called for her kewpie doll looks) Adkins was one of Grandma’s older sisters and passed away at 98. The service was lovely, run by White Lady Funerals and Mum’s sister Aunty Ann did a wonderful job of sharing some memories and thoughts from the family. Grandma was so pleased with the service and so grateful for everyone who came all that way, some from Melbourne, to say their farewells and to show their support. 2 Weeks to Adelaide (16 Days or so...)… until I see Aunty Ali and Co. plus all of those intrepid US travellers who made my last trip so wonderful. Sadly, I’m only visiting for a week, which is already full up but it is just an excuse to have to go back one day and do some more exciting things. The rest of my week...… was nothing overly exciting. School starts back very soon. I kept myself busy trying out colouring (for calm XD), hairdressing on Dad (fail) and photography of a particularly pretty mushroom I found. I can’t say I’m super creative but I took pictures in any regard. Maybe I can use them to document my journey to the top of visual creativity! Haha. Or not. More Sad News...… my fish have gone to the toilet bowl in the sky. Mr and Mrs Guppy, Frankie-Rae and now Bobba-Fet have all joined our previous fish-efforts and been flushed. Dad suspects we were sold infected fish from the store, considering the tank we used was carefully washed, the water temp was checked and they were adequately fed. Personally, I think we are cursed with fish-death, some sort of age old plague brought on by our evil Nordic/Italian ancestors, carried down throughout the line. It would explain why we are terrible with aquatic creatures (and plants). However… Mum’s fish Gronk, the tank cleaner has miraculously survived (for now) and is still vacuuming along. Yes, she is rubbing it in our faces. Yes, she is evil and may have had something to do with the death of the other fish... maybe. Look out for my next post featuring a 'guest blogger' ( as the fancy blogs say)...

Excitement! So Mum went and did something for herself (finally)... she bought a new car! It's pretty and blue, it has four wheels on the road, a steering wheel and it has buttons EVERYWHERE. I have been warned about wearing them out but I persevere, I will work them all out eventually. As Promised...I woman-Ed up and did it, chopped all my hair off like I said I would- Ashlea S, you were right, it's so much lighter and a bit liberating not to be weighed down by all that hair! Plus, I can flip my head around now and it goes straight back to where it started. It takes me less than a quarter of the time it used to take to wash and dry it now. So much better! Haha. Dad is still deciding how he feels (I have decided to ignore his initial middle finger approach to my cut and will tell him later how much he likes it). 63 dAYS...I lost my future travel buddy this week to her own adventures! Mel has taken the brave plunge and headed off to the UK by herself. By now she has arrived safely after a reaaalllly long flight and is almost ready to move into her new home for 2 years! See you very soon, my friend, I hope you have a wonderful time! xx Introducing......the newest additions to the Biviano household: Angel Fish pair Bobba Fett and Frankie-Rae, the newly weds Mr and Mrs Guppy and their cleaner Gronk.
Hopefully, they will last longer than our last fishy friends who resorted to jumping out of the tank for attention, playing badminton with cats and chowing down on each other. Happy New Year!I wish a Happy 2016 to all. Wishing my family and friends near and far all the love, luck and happiness in the world. My NYE was pretty quiet. Dad and I went to Wyong Golf Club for yet another year of fantastic fireworks, Mum and Ness stayed home chillaxing and Step did her super social rounds between friends. We caught up with a few people at the Gold Club, which is always nice and I got more than a few ''Hi, Miss B!"s as we walked and watched. In other news, unfortunately, the morning after NYE there was a body discovered down the street by the river under 'suspicious circumstances'. Never a boring moment in Wyong! Still haven't heard much more but Ness is convinced she was this far away from finding him instead of the people who did, luckily she walked into he opposite direction with her puppy that day. (Renee, I thought you'd appreciate this little news flash!) A new adventure in... April! So, being the impatient, easily bored person I am, this week I decided to book myself a trip to Gallipoli and Istanbul for ANZAC Day. It's only four days long with a day either side to explore Istanbul just a little but it's something I've always wanted to do, dawn service and all. I have to remember to take a sleeping bag because apparently it will be FREEZING! I'm a little excited about it, though. Of course, not as excited as I am to MOVE to London, but you know. sUNDAY lUNCHOn another note, Mel is flying out on the 6th! As in, not long at all. (I will totally be quizzing you about what to pack and leave behind further into the New Year, I promise).
I got to catch up with her and a few ladies from work on Sunday at The Coast Bar and Restaurant (old Iguana Joe's) to say goodbye and good holidays etc. Good luck Mel! I'll be seeing you soon! :D |
